Recipe configuration in Restaurant POS

Recipe configuration is the screen where the ingredients of the KIT and assembly items are configured with respective KIT and assembly items.

Recipe configuration for KIT items

Kit Items are those items which are ready for sale in the restaurant. Kit items are prepared in kitchen/central kitchen based on the expected selling of the product. Use Kit item for planned preparation.

Business rules

• Kit items are created in item master screen with preparation status as KIT.
• There should be the recipe configuration screen where user can map the required ingredients to the specific KIT item.
• In Recipe configuration screen, In the Kit/ Assembly field, press ENTER. A list of preparation status screen is displayed, select the Kit.
• In Item name field, press enter then list of kit items will show, select any specific item.
• In config qty field, enter the qty of kit item.
• In selling field, enter the selling price of kit items and then in basic cost, the cost price will be auto calculated from the ingredient cost amounts.
• In addon field, select yes or no
  • Yes – select the addon for the kit item using “addon item” function key.
  • No – No need to add addons for kit item.
• Then in Ingredients section, in item name field, select the specific ingredient items from the shown ingredient item list.
• In qty field enter the ingredient qty needed for to prepare config qty of KIT item.
• In UOM field, system will show the list UOM, select specific UOM.
• In cost amount filed, system will auto load the cost price of the ingredient item.
• In substitute item filed, give yes or no
  • Yes – User can map the another ingredient as the substitute for the main ingredient item.
  • No – Can’t map substitute ingredient item for main ingredient item.
• If Yes is selected in ingredient item, then user will lead to the substitute item selecting screen, where user will select the substitute ingredient item and enter the required qty and UOM and save the recipe configuration for Kit items.
• Multiple ingredients can to be configured to prepare Kit item.

Recipe configuration for KIT items

When the placed order is prepared instantly in the live kitchen then it is called as assembly item.

• There should be the recipe configuration screen where user can map the required ingredients to the specific assembly item.
• In Recipe configuration screen, In the Kit/ Assembly field, press ENTER. A list of preparation status screen is displayed, select the assembly.

• In config qty field, enter the qty of assembly item.
• In selling field, enter the selling price of assembly item and then in basic cost, the cost price will be auto calculated from the ingredient cost amounts.
