PRN file mapping for Barcode generation from the Retail POS application
PRN file mapping is the technique or the feature which is used to map the created PRN file to POS System for to print the barcode labels from barcode printer. So that barcode labels will be scanned by the barcode scanner at POS sale bill entry.
Business rules
- PRN file generally created by the Barcode printer vendors by using BarTender Application.
- Bacode printer vendor will design the barcode in barTender application based on the end user requirements.
- Once it designed, It will be printed as note file. That note file is called PRN file.
- PRN file consist the required fields which needs to be printed in the barcode labels like product name, Sale price, MRP, packed date, expiry date and scanning code. It fully customised as per end user.
- Once the PRN file generated with required fields, that PRN file will be mapped to POS.
- There is a menu named barcode data mapping under tools, open that screen.
- Enable barcode and start mapping the fields of PRN with POS.
- In barcode data mapping, pre-defined function fields like Product code, product name, MRP, selling price, packed date, expiry date, eancode, barcode, product short name, fssai number, ..etc are available to upload their PRN file name. for every field the name should be same in both PRN and POS screen.
- Example if product name in PRN file is having text like Pname then in POS system for product name user should enter Pname. Like same for every required fields the name which is in PRN file should be updated in this barcode data mapping screen.
- Once PRN file is mapped to POS, then barcode labels will be printed in Barcode printer from print barcode screen.
